Raju Chandrashekar PMJF

District Governor (2026-27)

Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow Ln. Raju Chandrashekar was elected as the District Governor of Lions Clubs International, District 317 F, at the 13th Lions Annual District Convention—an honour bestowed upon him by fellow Lions in recognition of decades of selfless service and exemplary leadership.

A proud and distinguished member of the prestigious Lions Club of Bangalore Kumarapark, Ln. Raju Chandrashekar is a Lion of over 45 years of dedicated service. His inspiring journey in Lionism has seen him serve across Districts 324 D1, 324 D6, and 317 F, holding numerous leadership roles and steadily rising through the ranks to this esteemed office. At the district level, his administrative excellence earned him the coveted title of Best District Cabinet Secretary at both District 324 D1 and Multiple District 324, a testament to his vision, discipline, and dedication.

His service extends far beyond the Lions movement. Ln. Raju Chandrashekar has made remarkable contributions to public welfare as a Member of the Karnataka State Blood Transfusion Council, State AIDS Prevention Society, and currently serves as the Member Secretary of the District Disabled Rehabilitation Centre, Government of Karnataka. He is also a Nominated Member of two Universities, contributing to the shaping of future generations.

A trained National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) member and former Chairman of the Blood Bank, Indian Red Cross Society, he has always stood at the forefront in times of need. His leadership and humanitarian commitment have been recognized with two International Leadership Awards and more than ten International President's Certificates of Appreciation.

In recognition of his outstanding service to society, the Government of Karnataka conferred upon him the prestigious State Rajyotsava Award, one of the highest civilian honours of the state.

Adding profound depth to his service journey, Ln. Raju Chandrashekar had the rare privilege of working closely with Nobel Laureate Mother Teresa, serving the underprivileged and destitute with compassion and humility. A living embodiment of the Lions' motto “We Serve,” he has personally donated blood 103 times, touching countless lives through this noble act alone.

Standing beside him as a pillar of strength is his spouse, Ln. Dr. R. Indira, a Past President of Lions Club of Bangalore Kumarapark, whose own commitment to Lionism continues to inspire. Their daughter R Deepti is a software engineer, son-in-law Mr. Pruthvi is an AI startup entrepreneur, grandson Master Darsh Pruthvi is a National Level Shooting Silver Medallist, and son R Arun is a Post Graduate in Medical Psychiatry serving at the well-known Narayana Nethralaya.
